Electrical Engineer

Who we are

Jade Energy Solutions is developing the Jade Energy Terminal in Wilhelmshaven, Germany’s only deep-water port and one of Europe’s most strategically significant energy infrastructure projects. Designed as a multi-energy hub, the terminal will enable the large-scale import of LNG and e-NG, with the flexibility to handle future green energy imports such as hydrogen. It will also be directly connected to Germany’s national gas grid, rail network, and emerging green energy infrastructure.‍

At a time when Europe is reshaping its energy supply chains, Wilhelmshaven offers a unique combination of deep-water access, existing industrial infrastructure, and strong connectivity to Germany’s grid and pipeline networks, with reach into broader European energy corridors. Jade Energy Solutions is building on these advantages to create a long-term asset that supports both near-term energy security and the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate industries across Germany and Europe.‍

We are a lean, ambitious team at an early and exciting stage, building something that matters, at a location that matters, for the long term.

The Role

As an Electrical Engineer at Jade Energy Solutions, you will design, implement, and maintain electrical, instrumentation, and control systems that support large-scale energy infrastructure. You will work closely with other engineers, technicians, and project managers to ensure safe, reliable, cost-efficient, and high-performance electrical and control solutions across all project phases.

Tasks of the job

  • Design, develop, and optimize electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for project requirements, with a focus on cost and efficiency.
  • Create engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Work with suppliers of process control and electrical systems during the design phase to represent the project owner’s interests and oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and control systems.
  • Ensure all systems comply with applicable industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.
  • Perform troubleshooting and routine maintenance on electrical and automation systems.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance strategies to improve the reliability of electrical and control components.
  • Support the configuration and programming of PLCs, DCS platforms, and HMI interfaces.
  • Calibrate and maintain sensors, instrumentation, and measurement devices.
  • Ensure accurate data acquisition, control logic performance, and system integrity.
  • Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain complete documentation of system designs, modifications, and maintenance activities.
  • Prepare technical reports, analyses, and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and project teams and provide technical guidance as needed.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional engineering certification, such as PE, is preferred.
  • Minimum five years of experience in electrical, instrumentation, and control engineering within the energy sector.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, SCADA systems, DCS platforms, and industrial communication protocols.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards and electrical regulations, such as NFPA, IEC, and NEC.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting capabilities, with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and project interfaces.
  • Fluent in German and English, written and spoken.

What we offer

  • A rare opportunity to join a high-impact infrastructure project at the heart of Europe’s energy transition, from the ground up.
  • A dynamic, entrepreneurial work environment where your contributions are visible and your work has real consequence.
  • Close collaboration with interdisciplinary and international teams.
  • A workplace in Wilhelmshaven at a genuinely unique European energy site, with flexibility where the role allows.
  • Room to grow with the organization as the project scales and the team expands.
  • A culture built on trust, directness, and shared purpose.
