Who we are
Jade Energy Solutions is developing the Jade Energy Terminal in Wilhelmshaven, Germany’s only deep-water port and one of Europe’s most strategically significant energy infrastructure projects. Designed as a multi-energy hub, the terminal will enable the large-scale import of LNG and e-NG, with the flexibility to handle future green energy imports such as hydrogen. It will also be directly connected to Germany’s national gas grid, rail network, and emerging green energy infrastructure.
At a time when Europe is reshaping its energy supply chains, Wilhelmshaven offers a unique combination of deep-water access, existing industrial infrastructure, and strong connectivity to Germany’s grid and pipeline networks, with reach into broader European energy corridors. The Role
As a Controller at Jade Energy Solutions, you will play a vital role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and transparency across the business. You will support day-to-day controlling operations, maintain high-quality financial records, and contribute to efficient financial processes as we scale a major European energy project.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys working with numbers and systems, and values precision and structure.
Tasks of the job
- Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes, ensuring accurate and timely analysis of financial performance.
- Identify opportunities for financial optimization and risk mitigation, contributing to the company’s financial health.
- Provide strategic insights based on financial data to drive informed decision-making and support business initiatives.
- Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including auditors and vendors.
Your Profile
- 7+ years of experience in business controlling roles, preferably within the energy, technology, or sustainability sectors.
- Master’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field.
- Thorough understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Strong understanding of international accounting standards, financial regulations, and compliance requirements. Knowledge of IFRS is a plus.
- Proven ability to drive financial strategy, planning, and analysis to support business growth and innovation.
- Experience leading statutory audit processes, acting as the single point of contact for external auditors, and ensuring documentation is complete and audit-ready.
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving and growing organization.
- Proficiency in common digital tools, such as MS Office. Experience with accounting or ERP systems is a plus.
- Strong communication skills in English. German is beneficial but not required.
